Campus Closure, March 18

Dear Duke School Community,

Due to the potential of rare and dangerous weather, the Duke School campus will be closed for students tomorrow—Thursday, March 18. Multiple news outlets are predicting a Level 4 storm system that may result in damaging winds, hail, and tornadoes. The weather, combined with our inability to enact the campus shelter-in-place practices due to school COVID-19 protocols (students potentially sitting in closed/close spaces for times longer than 15 minutes) cause us to move to a virtual learning day.

We will hold a distance learning—synchronous/asynchronous school day for the safety of all.

Activities and learning plans will be shared by teachers via email or class websites by 6 PM today. We understand that not all students will be able to access information, and students should complete work as they are able.

School will resume on Friday, March 19, with the delayed start as scheduled. Students should arrive on campus between 10-10:30 AM on Friday.
