Community Public Health Notice, Jan.21

Dear Duke School Families,

With the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff being paramount, I am reaching out to share with you that Duke School was made aware this morning that two siblings in Lower School have had exposure* to someone in their household who tested positive today for COVID-19. The household member remains asymptomatic, and the children have tested negative for COVID-19.

The two students will self-quarantine at home in accordance with our Return to School Policies. Please know that Duke School will continue to monitor the situation and will provide additional information as needed.

This letter is being shared to raise awareness. There is no change in status of school attendance at this time for students or faculty/staff. This communication concerns circumstances of potential exposure, as no student, faculty, or staff has been confirmed as having the virus at this time. It is imperative that we all continue to work together to ensure our community members remain safe and healthy.

In the interests of the health and safety of our community, all Duke School students, faculty and staff are encouraged to continue to adhere to local orders, as applicable, follow CDC guidelines and recommendations, and practice social distancing. We also request that you review the Duke School Return to School Policies 2020-21 if you have questions related to our procedures during this time.
